Kaijukaki was a beast to tame, the final boss for us to wrangle. The process of working on a large team project can be chaotic, and Kaijukaki has been the longest, most ambitious project we've ever done as a team. To the point where many of those involved are like soldiers after a war. Kaijukaki has taken well over a year, with over 5,000 traits, organized and consolidated within its metadata. With essentially 35+ entire collections all built into one seamless experience, Kaijukaki is the biggest collection to exist. Full of multiple artist styles, beloved AND niche influences, nothing to this magnitude has ever been done before.
Kaijukaki is the true definition of the Art comes first, which continues to grow exceedingly rare in the space. Multiple contributing artists spent hours and hours throughout the bear market fall, winter, spring, and we are now ready to unleash the beast, this summer.

☆ MARK OF THE KAIJU
Kaijukaki was originally conceptualized early on in Kemonokaki's creation. If Kemonokaki was the Girl, then Kaijukaki was the Boy. Girl NFT, Boy NFT. Kaijukaki should naturally be the yang to Kemonokaki's yin. We still wanted Kaijukaki to be its own idea so rather than Kemonokaki's kemonomimi, Kaijukaki pulls from the whimsy of LARPing, Japanese shonen cartoons, free-to-play video games, and much more.
Due to the fact so many artists worked to contribute on this monumental project, throughout its creation it was clear that it would be full of a variety of unique influences. Whether it was memories of mecha, knights, pop culture iconography, creepypasta, supernatural entities, or historical figures. As stated previously, one of the guiding lights for Kaijukaki was the currently declining art of childhood live action roleplaying.
If you partook in this practice, then you will understand without being explicitly told. Days of wild, care-free adventure. Doing things without a goal, and pretending to be fictional characters. Pretending to kill, pretending to be wild animals, pretending to hunt, and pretending to take over the world.
Those feelings were primary for us. We also knew we didn't want to follow the same path as most of the "Boy NFTs" do. Avoiding rugcore aesthetics, maintaining / reinventing the common motifs of animal heads, three piece suits, and weaponry. The thematic influences of bosses, cowboys, shooters, runaways, and outcasts.
Finally, we knew the art must be appealing, clean, and respectful toward this vision we had and not try to satirize or demoralize people who love the themes that we have on display.
☆ THE INCEPTION
The artists and team contributors of Kaijukaki consist of: Feline, Ina, Kiv, Bash, Stux, GC, Lean, Tubi, Sweetbread, Ddu, Kira, and Haiku.
Most of our team is interested in kemonomimi and cute aesthetics, this time around we had so many influences to discuss in regards to the themes that we wanted to pull from for a 'Boy inspired NFT'. After working on so many kawaii projects, it felt like something of this nature was long overdue and the energy to express these kind of themes was exploding. Still, we did not abandon our roots, Kaijukaki is still largely comprised of the classic chibi silhouette, and cute motifs sprinkled throughout which makes the harsher influences stand out even more along side them.
☆ KAIJU SUMMER
Kaijukaki is now Oekaki Connect's biggest NFT project so far, and will likely remain the biggest. Thank you all for being interested and being a part of the process and journey to get here. As always, Kaijukaki will be rewarding past holders for all Oekaki Connect collections, as well as granting access to the early whitelist minting on the 10th of July, with public mint commencing July 11th.
The mint will take place back where we started, on Ethereum Mainnet. Oekaki Connect holders will also have exclusive access to affiliate links, and discounted mints.
☆ KAIJU UNLEASHED
Kaijukaki is finally conscious, Kaiju is now real in every sense of the word. Two years back, Kaijukaki no.1 escaped the lab and shot several orderlies in self defense with a smuggled in pistol. After a brief two year stint; (thanks in large part to his legal defense fund), the state is ready to let the beast out of its cage. One small issue, the powers that be did not expect the little sucker to propagate. There are hundreds.. no THOUSANDS, of his kin running around. Official numbers are hard to calculate, but the number circulating is 8000 at minimum.
The question might be asked, what does he stand for? And in turn what does his brood stand for? First of all, he does not take kindly to tomfoolery. When somebody circles back, a Kaijukaki cuts the circle in half. Kaijukaki sits down criss cross apple sauce at the stand up meeting. Kaijukaki has more fun than you. Kaijukaki is sailing away. Kaijukaki partakes.
Kaiju is indulgence and mischief. Kaiju is resourceful and sweet when trouble arises. Containing an unending loyalty in the face of strife. Moving through the world with a bomb in his backpack ready to end it all and explode into a million little heart emojis. Kaiju is the first chug of an energy drink. When one Kaiju does something, we all feel it.
There is a connection between every Kaijukaki, a spirit that runs through them all. Shh! Do you feel it? There it is again. Learn to live beside it, let it guide you. If you know what's good for you, don't you dare scare it away with any of that nonsense in your brain!
